Yarra Estate Services (YES)
The Yarra Estate Services (YES) Programs provide free, accessible and locally delivered activities for children and young people across Yarra’s public housing communities and surrounding areas. YES supports young people who may be at risk of disengaging from education, family or community life, social isolation, or future contact with the criminal justice system.
The programs recognise that young people may experience overlapping challenges, including trauma, mental health concerns, disability, family violence, financial disadvantage and limited access to safe, structured activities.
Using sport and community engagement as non-stigmatising entry points, YES creates consistent opportunities for young people to build confidence, routine, positive relationships, wellbeing and a stronger sense of belonging. Local young leaders also contribute as coaches, mentors and role models, creating meaningful leadership and employment-development pathways.
YES is delivered collaboratively with community organisations, schools, sporting partners and volunteers. Existing programs will continue to grow in response to community needs and emerging opportunities.
