Abdul is a respected leader and mentor in Yarra. In 2013 Abdul established the community-based soccer program Fitzroy Lions after seeing many young people that could not afford to play club soccer. Abdul has participated in Yarra Youth Services programs for over six years

“Aunty Helen” has been the backbone of Cubbies and the young peoples voice for over 10 years. Helen has spent many of those years working in the Community at Cubbies and continues to support the locals at anytime.

Mariam is a youth worker working with young people from diverse backgrounds with disabilities or extra needs. She has been in the youth work sector for 3+ years as a mentor, coach, friends, support worker etc. Mariam’s current role is Sport & Rec coordinator for North Melbourne FC.

Growing up in Fitzroy, Achol has witnessed the importance of community organisations like Cubbies. Currently working at Flack Studio as their Community Leader, Achol strives to get  Cubbies back to It’s glory days, so the next generation of kids can also reap the benefits, just as she did.

For 20 years Steve has supported young people in Yarra Public Housing through work connected to Yarra Blue Light , Fitzroy Rotary, GR8M8S Foundation and directly through his own business.

Pete Firth is the founder of Futsal 4 Life, a provider of social futsal leagues in Yarra. Pete is driven by the idea that everyone should have access to sport to foster ongoing physical and mental health benefits.
