The Yarra Estates Challenge Cup
The Challenge Cup is a dynamic futsal tournament that takes place four times a year. A total of 150 kids participate in two main divisions; one for senior secondary-aged players and junior age groups. This multi-faceted futsal tournament is designed to accommodate players of different age ranges and skill levels, fostering the growth and development of soccer skills and a love for the sport among participants. It offers a platform for both aspiring high school players and young talents to showcase their abilities in a competitive and fun environment.
Senior Secondary Aged Tournament:
This is an 8-A-side soccer tournament.
It caters to senior secondary-aged participants, typically high school students. This age group is often considered the stepping stone to more competitive and advanced levels of futsal and football.
Junior Competitions:
There are two distinct junior competitions within the Challenge Cup.
The first junior competition is a futsal tournament designed for kids aged 12 to 14. This group bridges the gap between childhood futsal/football and the more serious competition that awaits them in the senior division.
The second junior competition is also a futsal event but is specifically tailored for the younger age group, which includes kids between 8 and 11 years old.
Total Participation:
The Challenge Cup sees significant participation, with a total of 150 kids involved in the junior competitions. This means that 150 enthusiastic young soccer players take part in the futsal tournaments for both the 12-14 and 8-11 age groups.
